With the Super Bowl just around the corner, let's dive into some insights

The 55% of American viewers prefer live streaming, with a significant 18% exclusively tuning in for sports and major events. And with FAST gaining traction, reaching a remarkable 33% penetration in 2023’s second quarter, it’s clear that the landscape of sports consumption is evolving rapidly.

The younger demographic is taking the lead, embracing FAST platforms to satisfy their sporting cravings. On these channels, Sports stands out as the favorite genre among younger users, while the older demographic shows an equal preference for both Comedy and Sports.

It’s no surprise that the Super Bowl is causing so much buzz, given that National Football League (NFL) emerges as the undisputed champion among online users, igniting fervor across all age groups except for Gen Z, who show a slightly higher liking for basketball.

However, kids are also in the spotlight. Nickelodeon teamed up with CBS Sports to air the Super Bowl with SpongeBob SquarePants and the rest of the crew from Bikini Bottom joining the telecast with live commentary.

Where to watch Super Bowl

Within the US, the tournament rights will be shared among Paramount+, NFL+, YoutubeTV, Hulu + Live TV Coverage, Fubo Live TV and DIRECTV. Youtube TV, Fubo TV, Hulu Live and Direct TV will broadcast the big game on CBS and Nickelodeon. Worldwide, DAZN owns most rights to the Super Bowl.

In Latin America, ESPN will broadcast it through Star+ and on TV. It can also be purchased with the DANZ NFL access. For Venezuelan users, Meridiano will join as an additional broadcaster to ESPN.

From Legacy to Leading Edge: How AWS Helped Us Put AI at the Heart of Xytech

The title of our panel was deliberately chosen: Adding AI Layers to Modernize Legacy Product Offerings. There’s a misconception in the market that AI is only for greenfield startups building from scratch. That’s simply not true. In many ways, companies with deep domain expertise and established customer relationships are better positioned to deliver meaningful AI solutions—because they understand the problem space intimately. Xytech has decades of domain knowledge in media operations baked into its architecture. The AWS engagement didn’t just help us bolt AI onto an old product—it helped us unlock the latent value in our platform in ways that solved larger challenges we’d been wrestling with for years. That’s the real magic: AI as an accelerant for domain expertise, not a replacement for it.
