The UK streaming market is defined not just by what platforms are available but by how audiences access them. Alongside direct subscriptions, a substantial layer of bundle arrangements connects major streaming services to telecommunications operators, e-commerce platforms, and financial services providers. These alliances expand distribution beyond the direct-to-consumer model and create meaningful differences in pricing, benefits, and availability depending on the provider. Analyzing which platforms participate in each bundle, with which partners, and under what commercial conditions reveals how distribution strategies are being built, how competitive positioning is evolving, and how the market offer is changing over time.

This analysis draws on data from the Prices, Plans and Bundles module within Origin Insights, with UK market tracking led by Sol Otero, data analyst on the PPB team.

Three types of bundle, one market logic

The Prices, Plans and Bundles module within Origin Insights has identified 141 active bundles in the UK market, the result of 32 partnerships across 11 distinct distribution partners. More than 70% of these partners are telecommunications companies, positioning telcos as the primary channel for streaming service distribution in the UK. The partnerships fall into three categories: commercial, billing, and deeplink bundles, with commercial bundles representing close to 72% of all tracked arrangements, billing bundles accounting for 26%, and deeplink bundles making up the remaining 2%.

This level of streaming market intelligence makes it possible to identify quickly which platforms are prioritizing growth through distribution alliances and which are maintaining a strategy more focused on direct subscription.

Telcos dominate: Vodafone leads UK streaming distribution

Among the 11 active distribution partners in the UK market, 8 are telecommunications companies, accounting for 73% of all active partners. Vodafone leads the coverage with agreements across 8 streaming platforms, including Apple TV, YouTube Premium, and Disney+. SKY follows with 4 platforms. BT, EE Broadband, and Freeview each maintain agreements with 3 platforms. O2 and Virgin Media each cover 2. Digicel, Google Play, and Lloyds Bank each maintain a single partnership, in all three cases with Disney+.

This makes Vodafone one of the primary access points for streaming in the UK and allows clear identification of which operators offer the broadest platform availability insights. A notable trend among providers is the predominance of ad-supported plans within their commercial bundles. This strategy allows distribution partners to offer more competitive and accessible value propositions to users while reducing the cost of including streaming services within their bundles. The shift mirrors the streaming evolution analysis visible across other major European markets, where ad-supported tiers have become the primary growth driver rather than a secondary offering.

Disney+ leads the UK distribution alliance network

Among the platforms analyzed, Disney+ has the widest distribution network in the British market, with 7 active partners, followed by Netflix with 6. Amazon Prime Video, Apple TV, and NOW each have 3 partners. Discovery+ and Paramount+ each maintain 2, while Crime+Investigation Play, DAZN, and YouTube Premium each record a single alliance.

Disney+'s strategy stands out for the diversity of its partners, with agreements spanning telecommunications, e-commerce, and financial services. Netflix's 6 alliances, by contrast, are concentrated exclusively within telecommunications companies, the primary distribution channel for bundles in the UK.

In the first months of 2026, Disney+ finalized a new alliance with SKY, one of the UK's most significant providers, joining the "Ultimate TV" package alongside HBO Max. The result is a significant combined offer in which Ultimate TV integrates Netflix, Disney+, HBO Max, and Discovery+, with Hayu expected to join the package in July 2026. For content owners and distributors tracking cross-platform availability data in the UK, this consolidation represents a meaningful shift in where premium streaming audiences are being aggregated.

What the Prices, Plans and Bundles module tracks

Origin Insights is Fabric's entertainment market intelligence platform, covering more than 1,000 streaming services across 249 countries with primary-sourced data verified by analysts. Within this platform, the Prices, Plans and Bundles module monitors the commercial offer of 2,028 platforms across 453 unique services in 148 countries. The database brings together information on media pricing and plan data in local currency and USD, subscription plans, promotional offers, and bundle details including distribution partners, alliance type, pricing, entry barriers, and commercial conditions. Data is updated continuously, offering a real-time content insights view of pricing and distribution strategies across each market.

How Origin Insights tracks deeplinks

The Prices, Plans and Bundles module tracks deeplinks at the platform level. The commercial relationship is established with the platform as a whole, and the selection of a specific plan remains in the hands of the user. This approach reflects how deeplink arrangements actually function in practice, connecting a distribution partner to a streaming service rather than to any individual subscription tier.

Pricing across 116 monthly plans in the UK

Origin Insights tracks 116 monthly plans in the UK market as of 2026. The wide pricing range reflects both the variety of subscription tiers available on each platform and the different price points at which bundled arrangements make streaming accessible.

UK Streaming Platforms in 2026

Within Starter monthly plans, the average price is $8.51 USD and the median sits at $7.91 USD. The difference between these two figures indicates that the majority of plans cluster below the average, influenced by a small number of higher-priced offers at the upper end. Prices span from $5.27 USD to $22.43 USD, reflecting the coexistence of basic ad-supported plans and premium propositions that include additional benefits or are sold as part of bundles with other services.

This pricing structure reflects one of the defining characteristics of the British market: a strong orientation toward entry-level ad-supported plans. The ad-supported model has consolidated as the primary driver of streaming growth in the UK, enabling more accessible streaming subscription prices both in direct subscriptions and in bundles sold through operators and other partners. At the same time, the UK maintains a strong tradition of free television consumption through services like BBC iPlayer and Channel 4, which increases user price sensitivity and favors the adoption of lower-cost, advertising-funded alternatives. Understanding streaming user habits and preferences at this level of granularity is what separates distribution strategy from distribution assumption.

What is new in Prices, Plans and Bundles

The module has incorporated new variables to expand the analysis of bundles and promotional strategies. A hard bundle variable now identifies whether a commercial package includes a streaming platform as part of a long-term offer of 12 months or more, or as a temporary promotion. This classification makes it easier to analyze the stability and commercial depth of alliances between platforms and their distribution partners.

Four new variables have been added at the operator level: Bundle Offer Type, Bundle Offer Amount, Bundle Offer Duration, and Bundle Offer Communication. These additions make it possible to capture not only the streaming platform's offer within a commercial bundle, but also the bundle's own promotional offer to the end user.

For subscription plan offers, an Expiration Date variable now records the exact end date of a promotion, when this is communicated directly on the platform's official website.

Together, these additions expand the strategic content insights capacity of Prices, Plans and Bundles, enabling comparison of pricing and distribution strategies across platforms, monitoring of how promotions and partnerships evolve over time, and identification of changes in the commercial offer of each market as they occur. For teams making media decision-making calls about UK distribution, bundle strategy, or pricing benchmarking, this is the intelligence layer that makes those decisions current rather than retrospective.
