Our team recently spent a few days at NAB Show New York, and even though Fabric didn’t have a booth this year, it was absolutely worth the trip. The show floor had great energy — busy enough to feel alive, but compact enough that we could actually have meaningful conversations (without the Las Vegas chaos).

Most of our time was spent catching up with customers and partners, checking in on active projects, and talking about where the industry’s headed. There’s a lot of curiosity right now around AI, cloud strategy, and workflow automation, and Fabric’s direction in those areas definitely struck a chord.

One of the big themes this year? The continued blending of cloud, AI, and automation as everyone looks for ways to work smarter and faster. We heard plenty of talk — and saw some real progress — around AI-driven tools for content prep, scheduling, and metadata management. The vibe was less “what’s new” and more “what’s actually working,” which was refreshing to see.

Of course, the challenges came up too: tighter budgets, talent shortages, and the constant push to do more with less. The companies leaning hardest into automation and smart workflows are clearly the ones pulling ahead.

As proud DPP members, we also joined their In Conversation event, which left us with two great takeaways:

  1. Looking at problems through an outsider’s lens can spark fresh ideas.

  2. Trust yourself to figure things out — career paths rarely follow a straight line, and progress often comes from taking risks and seizing opportunities.

All in all, NAB NY remains one of our favorite stops on the circuit. It’s focused, personal, and a great reminder that — even in a tech-driven world — relationships (and plenty of coffee) still power this industry forward.
